On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…
Twelve eggs from ho-ome
Eleven colored windows
Every year we alternate colored lights and candles. One year is traditional, one year a little more modern. This year we’re back to modern.
Ten boughs of fresh pine (from out backyard)
We do them on the stairs and on the lights in the hallway every year. Mom and I go out into the back yard and cut the pine ourselves.
Nine Christmas bo-ows
All made up by Mom the Magnificent.
Eight Christmas cookies
Also all hand made by Mom the Magnificent.
Seven(ty two) feet of garland
And it’s still not enough to do the entire railing and stairs at the same time.
Six shelves of tooown
First, six shelves and then…THE WORLD!
…I mean the rest of the landing.
Five sto-ock-ingggs
We used to hang them on the railing to the right but there’s a kitten in the house again so we found a cooler alternative that’s a bit more out of her reach.
Four meowing cats
Merry (like the Hobbit Meriadoc Brandybuck, not like Christmas)
Lila, our newest little edition whom we rescued from outside.
Samantha (Sammy) our grumpy old lady.
Pippin, (like the other Hobbit Peregrin Took. Get it, Merry and Pippin?)
Three tall trees
6ft
7 1/2ft
9ft (We’ve gotta get a ladder out to decorate this one, but eleven years after buying our giant Santa tree topper we finally have a tree big enough to put him on!)
Two hyper goats
Raven and Starling, always hungry.
And a fuz-zy alpaca named Hope
Alpaca selfies!
(Oops…make that two)
Hope’s new friend Bella.
Happy Holidays!
